Keep Him Away from the Trigger

Think you know John McCain?  Seems like a nice guy?  Heard how he likes to sit around with reporters and shoot the bull?  Like his constant repetition of the salutation, "my friends"?  Sure.

Oh, well.  Do you like the c-word he used to describe his wife?  Like his tasteless joke about Chelsea Clinton and Janet Reno? 

Read Bob Herbert's column in today's New York Times.  Writing about McCain's cluelessness and "endless gaffes," Herbert also focuses on McCain's "outsized temper."  He notes the comment Senator Pete Domenici, a Republican from New Mexico, made about McCain to a Newsweek reporter in 2000: "I decided I didn't' want this guy anywhere near a trigger."

Think Barack Obama is too reserved and cautious?  Which do you prefer?
