Those of us from Massachusetts know that Mitt Romney, our former governor, who yesterday declared his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president, is a sleazy chameleon. He'll say anything to any audience in order to win their support.
Poor Mitt. He can't escape his past. His past will do him in. Here's a clip from a debate in 1994 when he was trying to beat Teddy Kennedy in the U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts. If I hadn't known better, I might have voted for Romney then. His positions seemed so sensible, so moderate! Almost liberal! And he was certainly more articulate and coherent than Teddy Kennedy, the buffoon for whom I voted.
But, alas, Mitt is a fraud, a consummate politician, a person not to be trusted. Republican voters, take a look at this:
