What a spectacle Tuesday's Inauguration was! Over 1.5 million cheering, hopeful people packed onto the Mall (and, for many unfortunate holders of Purple tickets, stuffed forever into an underground queue) [video here] for Barack Obama's swearing-in as the nation's 44th President. What a celebration!
Contrast that with inauguration of George W. Bush in 2001, where about 20,000 people showed up, half of them there to protest a new presidency they regarded as illegitimate. Let's roll the tape of the parade:
