The notion, shared by many conservatives, that the Obama White House is rushing health-care reform is absurd. As Luckovich's cartoon points out, comprehensive reform of our health-care system is something that has reappeared on the political agenda periodically for more than six decades, defeated each time by conservative alarmists. Those same alarmists are working their evil magic now, chipping away at public support for change by scaring people about the consequences of reform.

If you've been following the controversy over the University of Notre Dame's decision to invite President Obama to deliver its commencement address (but to withhold an honorary degree from him because he supports abortion rights), you may be impressed, as I am, with the idiocy and immaturity of American conservatives.  But some of them are absolutely crazy.  I mean it: totally insane. Get a load of these zealots, who are (let's be honest) seriously fucked-up.
