Restore Fairness to the Judiciary

I linked yesterday to Charlie Savage's NYT article about how far the federal judiciary has been shifted to the right during the Bush presidency.  Here's a good op-ed piece from this morning's Boston Globe, arguing that an Obama presidency would go far to restore to the federal judiciary a commitment to justice, equality, and liberty.

Appeals Courts Pushed to the Right

This morning's New York Times carries an informative article by Charlie Savage, showing how dramatically the federal appellate courts have been shifted to the right during the presidency of George Bush, who has now "appointed more than a third of the federal judiciary expected to be serving when he leaves office, a lifetime tenured force that will influence society for decades."
